Transforming Ideas into Reality
As an element of the Bike Abu Dhabi project initiated in November 2021 to drive the emirate's ambition of becoming a prominent international cycling center and advocating for cycling as an eco-friendly mode of transport, the proposed bridge design is part of the extensive improvements in cycling infrastructure currently in progress.
These enhancements include the expansion of the emirate's existing 300km cycling network to over 1,000km and the creation of the 109km Abu Dhabi Loop, a dedicated cycle path connecting key points throughout the city. These developments aim to boost mobility, promote a healthier lifestyle, and encourage the community to adopt safe and sustainable transportation options.
